Building the Digital Future: Telecon at the Heart of Data Center Expansion

Telecon has been involved in a project of unprecedented scope, marking a crucial step in the development of connectivity and digital infrastructure in the province of Quebec. In collaboration with a tech giant, Telecon has undertaken the construction and implementation of the infrastructure and connectivity of a data center valued at several million dollars. This strategic partnership confirms our position as a key player in the expansion of data centers in Canada.

A Trusted Partner

Nicolas Naud, Director, East of Quebec, Infrastructure

Why was Telecon selected for this ambitious project? “The answer lies in our ability to offer a turnkey solution, both for indoor and outdoor infrastructure,” says Nicolas Naud, Director, East of Quebec, Infrastructure. By winning this contract, Telecon demonstrates “not only its technical expertise, but also its ability to forge solid partnerships with major manufacturers, thus offering a complete and innovative solution to clients” adds Gaetan Dumais, Manager, Business Development, Connectivity.

This project not only represents a significant business opportunity for Telecon but also showcases our expertise in the Quebec region. This experience prepares Telecon for future large-scale projects, thus strengthening our position in the ever-evolving data center market.

An Expanding Market

This project is significant as the data center market in Quebec is booming, and the client is one of the main drivers of this growth. With the rise of artificial intelligence and the ever-increasing demand for data processing capabilities, we are becoming a partner of choice to meet these growing needs in the data center market.

A Fruitful Collaboration between Infrastructure and Connectivity

The collaboration between Infrastructure and Connectivity goes far beyond the mere completion of the project.”By joining forces from the outset of the mandate, we were able to leverage our various partnerships and certifications to create a tailored solution that meets specific needs,” explains Nicolas. Gaetan adds that this collaborative approach “allows us to offer turnkey solutions, thus providing a unique and innovative customer experience.”

Interdepartmental collaboration is a major asset in a new data center project, as our expertise can cover both the interior and exterior of a building. Thanks to our specialized civil works team, we can begin work at the start of the project by installing underground infrastructure such as conduits, concrete pads, and access shafts.

Meanwhile, our splicers can prepare, finish and test thousands of fibers within a tight timeframe, giving our connectivity group the chance to ramp up work faster.

In conclusion, the construction and implementation of the infrastructure and connectivity of a data center represent much more than a mere technical achievement for Telecon. It embodies our commitment to innovation, our growing expertise in many services, and our ability to take on the most ambitious challenges. By collaborating across different business units, Telecon is perfectly positioned to build Quebec’s digital future.
